AFTER TRIALLING MANY PRODUCTS, AQUA SHOP DECIDED QUICKEN PROVIDED THE SOLUTION THEY NEEDED.

When professional swim, sports and triathlete supplier, Aqua Shop, expanded its operations during the Sydney 2000 Olympics, it recognised the need to streamline the management and control of its financial processes.

The Aqua Shop's search began and saw it undertake a thorough investigation of software to control both back-office accounts and provide a front office point-of-sale solution.

Mr Norman Graham, Managing Director of Aqua Shop explained, "We had used QuickBooks successfully since commencing the business in 1997. However, we felt it was time to find a program that could integrate with QuickBooks or alternately, introduce a stand- alone program that could handle the day-to-day accounting and our retail sales simultaneously".

"During our extensive and ultimately disappointing trial of more than a dozen products we found that whilst some programs offered good statistical information and others data capture and management tools, it was a new release Quicken program (QuickPOS) that offered us the ultimate solution to managing both the front end register and the back office accounting".

"We found the new QuickPOS software not only very sophisticated; it guaranteed reliability and improved business efficiencies."

"Of benefit was the fact that its design was based on a cash register, making it easy for all staff to use immediately and, similar to QuickBooks, it required no bookkeeping knowledge."

"These advantages and its ability to automate BAS, GST and PAYG functions, keep tab on inventory levels and multiple pricing levels plus provide full back office reporting actually saved us from employing an in-house accountant".

"Using QuickBooks and QuickPOS in unison resulted in significant time savings, as we no longer found it necessary to key data a second time".

"This allows our business to be more productive and focused in other areas whilst also making invoicing or ordering, a faster and simpler process".

He added, "As more than 15 percent of business is now handled through the website and manually processed, The Aqua Shop is now considering introducing another new feature-packed program from Quicken, new Online Store."
