Update on Windows Vista

This information is for Australian customers only.

Windows Vista has made its long-awaited debut in the Australian market.

What does this mean for users of products such as QuickBooks, Retail Point of Sale and Quicken Personal?

If you are a QuickBooks user

QuickBooks 2006/07 or earlier versions may not run on the Vista platform and have not been fully tested to see the full implications of running them on the Vista platform.

If you wish to run QuickBooks in a Vista-environment, QuickBooks 2007/08 is Vista-ready and is also compatible with Internet Explorer 7.0.

Anyone who has purchased a full or upgrade version of QuickBooks 2006/07 (or is a current member of the Quicken Advantage program) is entitled to and should have received a free upgrade to QuickBooks 2007/08. If you have not received your free upgrade, contact Quicken Customer Support.

QuickBooks 2007/08 is compatible with all versions of Microsoft Office, up to and including Office 2007.

If you are a user of Retail Point of Sale

Retail Point of Sale 2006/07 or earlier versions will not run on the Vista platform. If you wish to run Retail Point of Sale in a Vista environment, Retail Point of Sale 2007/08 is Vista-ready and is also compatible with Internet Explorer 7.0.

Anyone who has purchased a full or upgrade version of Retail Point of Sale 2006/07 or is a current member of the Quicken Advantage program is entitled to and should have received a free upgrade to Retail Point of Sale 2007/08. If you have not received your free upgrade, contact Quicken Customer Support.

Retail Point of Sale 2007/08 is compatible with all versions of Microsoft Office, up to and including Office 2007.

If you are a user of Quicken 2008 - Personal, Personal Plus and Home & Business

We do not recommend you install Quicken 2006 or earlier on a Vista platform. These versions have not been tested and may exhibit unpredictable behaviour.

Quicken 2008 (Personal, Personal Plus and Home & Business) is Vista-ready and works with Internet Explorer 7.0.

If you are a user of Quicken ShareAnalyser

Quicken ShareAnalyser versions lower than version 3.0 have been sunsetted and are no longer supported by Quicken. These products are not Vista-ready and cannot be run on a Vista platform.

ShareAnalyser 3.0 users who wish to run the software on a Vista platform need to follow certain guidelines in order to reactivate their software on their new or upgraded Vista PC. These guidelines are available from the Quicken Knowledge Browser, article Q10361.

If you are a user of Quicken Customer Manager

All versions of Quicken Customer Manager will install and run on the Vista platform and are compatible with Microsoft Office up to and including Office 2007.

If you are user of Reckon Payroll Premier

Payroll Premier 2006/07 or earlier versions will not run on the Vista platform. If you wish to run Payroll Premier in a Vista environment, Payroll Premier 2007/08 is Vista-ready and is also compatible with Internet Explorer 7.0.

Anyone who has purchased a full or upgrade version of Payroll Premier 2006/07 or is a current member of the Quicken Advantage program is entitled to and should have received a free upgrade to Payroll Premier 2007/08. If you have not received your free upgrade, contact Quicken Customer Support.
