QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Service Pack 2 is a free update for QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Multi Currency (R7) users.

QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Service Pack 2 includes many product enhancements including enhancements to tax reporting and the editing of tax amounts on transactions.

 

Who needs to install this Update?

If you use QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 R7 (Enterprise, Premier, Pro, Plus or Accounting) you should install this patch

 

Enhancements

QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Service Pack 2 includes the following:

  • Edit Tax Amounts - Based on customer feedback the ability to edit the tax amount column for Bills and General Journals has been added.
  • Tax Reporting - Tax reporting enhancements include applying tax code column on reports and the no tax code filter have been added.
  • Outlook Express - The option to use the Outlook Express integration has been added.
  • Accountants Copy - Enhancements to the Accountants copy function to allow adding, editing and deleting of bank transfers and build assemblies.
  • Rebuild - Enhancement to the Rebuilding function from the Multi Currency release.
  • Tax on Foreign Transactions - The ability to apply tax to foreign currency transactions

Installing QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Service Pack 2

  1. Make sure you are currently running QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Multi Currency release. Open QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 and press CTRL + 1 on the keyboard to display the Product Information. If Multi Currency release is installed the Product will display as QuickBooks 2008-09 Release R7 or R7P
  2. Ensure that your copy of QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 is activated. Click on Help menu > My Licence Information. If QuickBooks is not activated you can activate online by clicking File menu > Activate QuickBooks OR File menu > Refresh QuickBooks Licence.
  3. Create a backup of your QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 company file(s).
  4. Exit from QuickBooks QBi 2008/09.
  5. Download the 'QuickBooks 2008-09 SP2 (R7).exe' file and save it to a location on your hard drive (For example, C:\[temp] or the Desktop).
  6. Use Windows Explorer to locate 'QuickBooks 2008-09 SP2 (R7).exe', the file you just saved, and double-click it to run the setup program.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to install QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Service Pack 2. After installing the update successfully, you can delete the 'QuickBooks 2008-09 SP2 (R7).exe' file. Alternatively, save it to a safe location in case you need to re-install QuickBooks and this update at a later date.
  8. [Vista users only] If you receive a "Program Compatibility Message", click "This program installed correctly" and continue with the installation.
  9. The QuickBooks Update Utility will commence. When it has reached 100%, QuickBooks displays a message that 'Your version of QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 is now up to date'. Click OK. You may now open QuickBooks.
  10. Check that QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Service Pack 2 has been installed correctly by pressing CTRL + 1 on the keyboard to display the Product Information. The Product will display as QuickBooks 2008-09 Release R8 or R8P if the QBi 2008/09 Service Pack 2 has successfully installed.
Note: If you are using QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 in a multi-user environment, you need to install this update on all workstations accessing your company file. You cannot use a company file in a multi-user environment unless all installations are updated to the same version.
